Sleepy bear Christmas

I’m back making another Christmas card again in March…. It is cold enough to make me think its the right time of year for Christmas. Maybe next month it will be warmer?

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #670 is All Dressed Up (ADU). The theme this week is “Christmas”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image from ADU
  • High tack glue
  • Base card – 300gsm
  • Coloured pencils
  • Glamour dust
  • Background paper
  • Pencil and paper stumps for shading
  • Sentiment strip

I love this digital image and have used it before. It doesn’t take much colouring, but is coloured with coloured pencils and cut to a square topper. It helps that polar bears are white I guess!! I’ve chosen some subtle colours which tone in with the background paper that the image is matted onto. To add some sparkle to the image (as it is Christmas) I used a quickie glue pen and some glimmer dust.

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read your comments. Please let me know whether this has inspired you!

let it snow

Hello friends. I know, I know. We all want better weather here in the UK and I’m talking about snow!! I’m back making Christmas cards again for this challenge, but actually having to make Christmas cards through the year for the challenges is helpful as then you have actually made some when it gets to December.

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #666 is DRS Designs. The theme this week is “winter”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • High tack glue
  • Base card – 300gsm
  • Coloured pencils
  • Tumbled glass distress ink
  • Snowflake border die
  • Cream shiny paper

I combined an image and a sentiment from our sponsor. The digital image is coloured with coloured pencils and cut to a square topper. I’ve then inked some shiny paper with distress ink so that it takes on a blue colour before die cutting this with a snowflake border die.

The snowflake border was cut 4 times and stuck down so that it was off the edge and framing the image. This was then mounted onto some inked card and added to the base card.

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments. Please let me know whether this has inspired you!

Inspired by a song 🎵

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a good festive season however you celebrated. It’s now a new year full of new challenges and new inspiration! Hopefully you can take a look at older posts and find inspiration there too. Since this challenge is about being inspired it’s fitting that this is my first challenge for the year and has the theme “inspired by a song”.

So I chose the song “flowers” by Sweet Female Attitude and it is also my mums birthday this week so I chose this for her. She can’t have real flowers due to her allergies, but she does like them.

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #664 is All Dressed Up (ADU). The theme this week is “inspired by a song”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #658 is The Cutting Cafe. The theme this week is “for the children”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

This week I chose to use this 3D rudolf card cutting file. The file has a trap door on the inside of the card so that the cup can be refilled! There are videos on the website which show you how to make the projects up so go and check them out!

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital cutting files (svg) – but this comes in PDF if you don’t have an electronic cutting machine

Autumn days duplicity

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. The trees are getting colourful and the weather is changing so autumn is definitely here!

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #656 is Sheepski Designs. The theme this week is “Autumn/Halloween/”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

This week I chose to use my distress oxide inks and a Dylusions mica spray. I chose an image called “Duplicity” – for some reason I’m drawn to skulls and butterflies! I printed this image out twice so that I could decoupage a second layer for the rose and butterflies. The parts that are layered I gave also added the mica spray onto so that they stand out against the main image.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image from Sheepski Designs
  • Distress Oxide inks (see above image for colours)
  • High tack glue
  • Silicone glue
  • Card base – 300gsm
  • Metallic card mat

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Gifting stationary

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. So this week I have managed to get Covid again (2nd time) so I’m glad I had my project prepared in advance for another DT challenge. The sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #654 is The Cutting Cafe. The theme this week is “Gift box/bag”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

As you can see I’ve chosen a gift box. The stationary box set comes as either PDF’s or SVG’s so that you can either print and cut out with scissors or digitally cut out the pieces. Either way you can see that it’s a fabulous gift set. There’s a base and lid to the box with various apertures. I chose this one as it was an interesting shape and added some acetate into the window.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital cutting files/PDFs from The Cutting Cafe
  • High tack glue
  • Grey spotted box base card plus white card blanks – 300gsm
  • Distress oxide inks, stamps, washi tape and papers to decorate the cards and envelopes.

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Love is in the air

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #652 is All Dressed Up (ADU). The theme this week is “Anniversary/Wedding”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I created a background on the base card just using gesso and on top of this added a backing paper which was again blue, but not what you would imagine of a sky. Under the hot air balloon I added some silver thread as well as every cloud has a silver lining.

The hot air balloon was coloured with pencils, but in vibrant colours, and I fussy cut it out so that it was floating in the sky.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image from ADU
  • Pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Card base – 300gsm
  • Gesso
  • Silver thread
  • Blue patterned background paper

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Back to school

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #648 is Oddball Art Co. The theme this week is “Back to school/Anything goes”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I die cut the note paper, added the image onto this. Then tore a strip of the print paper to the edge of the image and overlaid some gold star washi tape. All of this was edged with the gold paste. I also got out the sewing machine and ran around the edge of this topper I had built.

I created a background with distress ink and a stamp and cut this to add onto the base card. I ripped the print paper and went around the background print with some gold and stuck a square of this onto the background. On top of this I stuck 3 sides of the notepaper topper to make a pocket for the topper tag. Onto the topper tag I added a good luck die cut.

The paper clip I cut out of white card 4 times. Layered the 4 die cuts up to make it more sturdy and covered it with the gold elsewhere on the card.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image from Oddball Art Co
  • Chameleon pens
  • High tack glue
  • Card base – 300gsm
  • Distress oxide inks
  • Edged tag die
  • Gold metallic paste
  • Die cut paper clip
  • Die cut note paper
  • Gold star washi tape
  • Black and white print paper
  • Circle dots stamp (indigo blu)

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.
