CRAFT challenge #534 – Winter

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is Pickled Potpourri Designs.

I was using Perky Penguins for this challenge and I printed off 3 individual penguins and a “warmest wishes” sentiment. I coloured these lovely little perky penguins with my Chameleon pens, using colours BR5, YO3, NU1, BL2, NG4, YG3, GR1, RD5, RD3, PK5 and BR3. I used some of my First Edition papers from the “Believe” paper pad and made these into the patterned ripped snowy slopes that the penguins are playing on.

So cute!

CRAFT challenge #525 – Back to School

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is Pickled Potpourri.

This card was inspired by my eldest daughter who I often refer to as a social butterfly. Her GCSE results are out today and I have made this card to congratulate her and she’s about to move on to sixth form.

I used Inkscape to arrange this group of digital images. I’d not used the program before, I’d got as far as downloading it as I’d heard about it on forums. It was actually pretty easy to use and I was quickly able to resize, rotate, group and replicate the images.

Once I was happy with my layout I printed it onto the background, used some stickles to add a glittery effect to the butterflies and the added a heat embossed sentiment of “Congratulations”.

I mounted this up onto glitter card and then onto a card blank.

thank you for looking.

#488 CRAFT challenge – Monochrome

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this week is Pickled Potpourri.

For this Monochrome challenge I chose an image that I felt was classy and timeless. I added minimal colour in a pale pink just to highlight the flowers. The image itself I added a little bit of black pencil to just to tone the dress and the stockings in with the monochrome theme.

The pink I also coloured onto the back side of the velum just gently so as not to overpower the image.

I’m really pleased with the subtle finish. I hope you like it too.
