Wearing Spring Easel Card

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #643 is The Paper Shelter (TPS). The theme this week is “easel card”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I absolutely love this digital image and I’ve requested it a few times but until now have not been lucky enough to have it chosen for the DT image to use!

I also chose to learn how to make a new type of easel card that I have never made before. This one like other easels folds flat, but the stopper is a 3D bar which you can see here:

I layered up some of the image and also used some of the 2nd image I printed to add extra elements to the bar and inside.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • Black doodle pen
  • High tack glue
  • Ruler
  • Score board
  • Guillotine
  • Card base – 300gsm

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Christmas

The sponsor for the CRAFT challenge #627 is The Paper Shelter and the theme is Christmas. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Blue 300gsm base card made from an A4 sheet
  • Digital image
  • Stamped and die cut sentiment
  • Backing paper also from TPS
  • Snowflake die cut with pixie powders
  • Sequins
  • High tack glue

I printed the digital images onto some thin card and cut out the topper image. I also had a large doe cut snowflake which toned in with the colour palette so I added this in between the background layer and the topper.

To finish off I also added a few sequins to add some sparkle. It’s a great image and makes stunning quick cards.

Thank you for stopping by, please leave a comment. X

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 7th September 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I’m using an image called Autumn Breeze. The windswept girl comes with a backing paper and I’ve chosen to reduce the size of her so that I could add a sentiment to the blank space. I have also inked around the outside of the image with some distress oxide inks and over stamped with some text in a pale colour to add a little more age and texture.

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

CRAFT challenge #557 – 3D decoupage

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter.

I love this image called ‘Teamwork ‘ it is indeed teamwork for these two to get up onto that branch!

No colouring needed this week as I used a pre-coloured image printed out several times to create the layers for my 3D decoupage card.

I hope this inspires you to create your own decoupage as you can choose your own layers!

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 5th May 2020

Come and join us for the latest challenge from Through the craft room door (TTCRD). Our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter.tps_cake

For this I’ve coloured the cake with Chameleon pens (VO2, NU0, YL2, RD4, YO2, BL3, PK3, RD2, YO3, GR2, GR4). Of course the cake has a cherry on top! I chose a backing paper paper from Papermania which had cupcakes on it. I mounted this on a green mat and used the same paper to make a lacy overlay.

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 28th January 2020

Come and join us for the latest challenge from Through the craft room door (TTCRD) This time our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter.

The images from The Paper Shelter are always ones that you can print and run with as they come with a background, coloured image layers or they come as a black and white line drawing which you can make your own. I’ve chosen to print this one off with the background and then two more layers so that I could decoupage some of the flowers and the VW camper van. It’s a cool fun summery image which was great to work with. I added the “don’t worry be happy” sentiment as I felt this summered up the care free summery attitude I saw in the image!

To frame this I have used one of the Clarity Stamps Doodleology Square frame stamps which I bought recently. I love them as they are quirky. The twisted strands in the frame stamp were coloured with Chameleon pens (RD2, GR1, GR2, YO3, OR3, NU1, NU4, YO2, PK2).

I’ve included this view so that you can see the decoupage in a little more detail!

I would like to enter this into the following challenge:

CRAFT challenge #526 – 3D decoupage

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter.

This image from The Paper Shelter was chosen by the team to be made into 3D decoupage. I printed it out several times on Centura Pearl card so that the image had a shimmer to it. I decided on the layers cut and shaped these and then layered these up with some glue gel.
