Crazy friends

The sponsor for this challenge is Dr Digi. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

The background paper is a background I made with brusho (terracotta and gamboge) that I had in my stash. I chose to print onto this background and colour the image with watercolour pencils.

I cut the background to fit a 5×7” card and inked around the edge with Festive Berries Distress Oxide. The sentiment is one I picked up recently and absolutely love. So I stamped this is black pigment ink and heat embossed this with clear powder. I then mounted the topper image I had created onto a rose gold metallic mat. I also had some metallic bits on my desk which just filled the space nicely to complete the card.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • 300gsm card base
  • Image “Quackers” from Dr Digi
  • Brusho (terracotta and Gamboge)
  • Watercolour pencils
  • Metallic card and dots
  • Distress oxide ink (festive berries)

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

Music time

The sponsor for this challenge is Twinkle Lane. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

girl standing in front of a wall

I printed this image twice so great I could choose a couple of the elements to decoupage to give a bit of depth.

The background paper is some rice paper with some black soot distress oxide in the area under the image so that the image stands out from the background. I also added a strip of washi tape which is gold and tones in with the image.

The image has been coloured with distress oxide inks and some metallic pigment inks.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • Kraft 300gsm card base
  • Image and sentiment from Twinkle Lane
  • Sheet music rice paper
  • Ink pads as pictured above
  • Musical gold washi tape

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

Focus on what’s important

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. I can’t believe how fast this year is going by. It’s almost Easter – eek!

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image printed
  • Backing paper from my stash
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Kitch flamingo distress oxide ink
  • Card base – 300gsm

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Seahorse

So now that we’ve been back to work for a couple of weeks it’s like the Christmas break never happened. Do you ever feel like that? 😞

The sponsor for the CRAFT challenge #624 is Trimgym, who is the coordinator for our CRAFT challenge group and the theme is Anything Goes (ATG). Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Cream 6×6” scallop edged 300gsm base card
  • Digital image
  • Chameleon pens (BV2, GR1, BL4, VO2)
  • Bead curtain cling rubber stamp from Stamp Addicts by JudiKins USA
  • Happy birthday you old bird stamp from Stamp Addicts
  • Distress Oxide “Stormy Sky”

For this card I stamped the bead curtain onto a spare piece of card to create a topper which I’ve also edged with the ink to give more of a focus to that panel.

Onto another piece of card I printed the digital image of the seahorse, fussy cut it and coloured it with the listed Chameleon pens. I wanted subtle colours and I think that these work well.

To finish off I also added the sentiment “Happy Birthday”, but this was taken from a stamp that actually has a second line which I’ve masked so that this didn’t get inked just leaving the section I wanted to use.

Thank you for stopping by, please leave a comment. X

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 5th October 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is Ike’s Art. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I created my card using the following:

KLM Sunflower cups digital image

A4 white 300gsm base card

Chameleon pens (BR1, WG3, NU1, NU3, YO3, YO2)

Matte gold mats

Blue paper for the background

Tacky glue

The image I chose to use was these lovely cups along with the sentiment about friends. Friends often meet for coffee or tea so this felt like a card I would send to a friend to let them know I was around by writing we should meet for a catch up coffee (even though I don’t drink coffee).

I coloured the cups and tried to give them some texture as if they were stoneware cups. Then I cut out the cups and mounted them onto a blue mat as I felt this was a good contrast colour. Next I added a matte gold mat to both the image mat and the sentiment bringing things together.

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 21st September 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is Ike’s Art. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I created my card using the following:

Ike’s Art heart postbox digital image

A4 pink and white polka dot 300gsm card

Chameleon pens (RD4, NU1, PK3, PK2, PK4, VO2, PL5, RD2)

Distress oxide inks – Victorian Velvet and Picked Raspberry

Studio light ticket stamp and die set

Tattered lace starburst ovals

Leaf die

Fuchsia pink paper

Sparkly cream 240gsm card from pink frog

Gems

Paper trimmer

Anita tacky glue

The image I chose to use was this lovely postbox. With the hearts on it, it screamed anniversary to me and love, hence why I coloured it in red and pink Chameleon pens.

I recently picked up the ticket cutting die and decided that I wanted to team these up with the postbox image. I die cut 3 of these, created a background with some Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink then stamped with picked raspberry using some of the stamps from that set and others from another set. I mean it’s great to mix and match your stash isn’t it!

I cut out the starburst ovals but also kept the centre and used a pick up technique, with the distress oxide picked raspberry ink, to colour this mat. Next cutting out a few of the leaves too.

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 29th June 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is Sheepski Designs. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

tulip vase

I coloured in the tulips with colouring pencils and added a little hint of distress ink around the edge of the topper that I cut along with the mat from torn edge squares. The mat I created from a brusho background on watercolour paper which I had created in the past on one of my making days. You crafters will know what I mean, we all have those days where we make far too many backgrounds and then did them out every so often when we rediscover them!

I hope to see your creations. Thank you for stopping by!

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 15th June 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Art Co. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I made this backing paper using one of the flowers from the Oddball Art whimsical flower collection which has so many flowers in it. When there are large collections it’s sometimes hard to choose, but there are so many ways to use the images. I decided that just replicating and rotating one digital image and using distress inks to make a backing paper would be a different idea and went with that.

I hope to see your creations. Thank you for stopping by!

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 12th January 2021

This is my first DT card for TTCRD this year and it’s such a lovely image to work with.

So this challenge is using an image from our sponsor this Colour of Love. Join us at Through the craft room door (TTCRD) and lets see what you can do. It’s always lovely to see your creations and remember our challenges are always “anything goes – ATG”.

girl with heart colour of love

The image is coloured with Chameleon Pens (YL2, GR2, NG4, GR1, WG3, BR1, OL3, NU1, NU0, NU00, NU2, RD2, RD4, PK3, PK5) and then I shaded with a pencil and paper stub. The background of the card I used a stencil and some distress oxide ink onto Kraft card. The stencil is from Clarity Stamps.

CRAFT challenge #582 – ATG (anything goes)

Hi there crafters. Happy New Year!

The first challenge for 2021 at Trimmies Craft Challenge is on for two weeks and it’s an anything goes challenge. Life is nowhere near normal at the moment so I’m sure lots of you will like the time to craft and enter a project into our latest challenge. I hope it will allow you to think about your crafting and escape from reality for a while. The sponsors for our first challenge of the year are The Artsy Stamper Shop.

Bartlett Pears digital image

The digital image has been coloured with watercolour pencils. Then around the image I have added some pencil shading and used a paper stump to blend the pencil adding a border around the image. I have then use the Pumice Stone distress oxide ink to add an inked border around the topper and also dragged across the linen base card.

I don’t know about you but I wanted to choose something totally non Christmas related and different for this ATG challenge, so let’s see your creations.!
