#butterflies – D E Crafts

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. The trees are getting colourful and the weather is changing so autumn is definitely here!

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #656 is Sheepski Designs. The theme this week is “Autumn/Halloween/”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

This week I chose to use my distress oxide inks and a Dylusions mica spray. I chose an image called “Duplicity” – for some reason I’m drawn to skulls and butterflies! I printed this image out twice so that I could decoupage a second layer for the rose and butterflies. The parts that are layered I gave also added the mica spray onto so that they stand out against the main image.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

Distress Oxide inks (see above image for colours)
High tack glue
Silicone glue
Card base – 300gsm
Metallic card mat

This weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge is on and our sponsor this time is The Cutting Cafe. These challenges keep you going when you have a lot on yor mind. Crafting can absorb you and help with mindfulness.

To think that this was a few pieces of white 300gsm cardstock! It’s amazing what you can achieve with a few stamps and some distress inks. I used both stamp sets from the Indigoblu box sets that have been out and I’m so pleased with the results. The cutting file allows you to make a tall box like this or a smaller box (but could be adjusted to make something in between as well). I chose to make the larger one to challenge myself. I cut all of the pieces and stamped them flat before construction.

I hope that this might inspire you as well to create any occasion boxes!
