let it snow

Hello friends. I know, I know. We all want better weather here in the UK and I’m talking about snow!! I’m back making Christmas cards again for this challenge, but actually having to make Christmas cards through the year for the challenges is helpful as then you have actually made some when it gets to December.

For the DT challenge this week the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #666 is DRS Designs. The theme this week is “winter”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • High tack glue
  • Base card – 300gsm
  • Coloured pencils
  • Tumbled glass distress ink
  • Snowflake border die
  • Cream shiny paper

I combined an image and a sentiment from our sponsor. The digital image is coloured with coloured pencils and cut to a square topper. I’ve then inked some shiny paper with distress ink so that it takes on a blue colour before die cutting this with a snowflake border die.

The snowflake border was cut 4 times and stuck down so that it was off the edge and framing the image. This was then mounted onto some inked card and added to the base card.

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments. Please let me know whether this has inspired you!

Just for you

Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by again! The sponsor for this challenge is TPS. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I printed out the digital image and had some peach coloured card which was in my stash which coordinated with the image so this is what I used for the large mat and for stamping the sentiment words onto. To make the green in the image pop a little more, I also used a green mat which I cut with a stamp die. Between the green and peach mats I felt it needed something kind of lacy, but none of my lacy dies seemed right!

Can you guess what I used instead of lace?? The cream lacy parts were 2 peacocks that o had already cut in cream card in my stash. I hope you’ll agree that they look fabulous on this card.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • 300gsm card base
  • Image from TPS
  • 2 cream did cut peacocks
  • Peach card
  • Green card
  • Rectangle stamp die

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

Fathers Day

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #640 is Oddball Art Co. The theme this week is “Male”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I chose to do a spotlight heart for this father’s Day card. The heart also symbolises the love I have for my dad. He’s so understated that this day is to celebrate him.

I cut a heart out of the image and coloured the heart in the colours of the camper van that mum and dad owned when I was younger. Around the camper I then added a pencil drop shadow as I wasn’t colouring the rest of the image. I also added some subtle stencilled hearts in the background. I then mounted the image onto an orange mat and onto a brown base card and added the heart back into the image on foam tape to raise the spotlight heart.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Heart Die
  • Card base – 300gsm
  • Distress oxide ink
  • Foam tape

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Anything is possible…

The sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Art Co. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

girl standing in front of a wall

The image has been coloured with coloured pencils which I’m loving at the moment. I then added detail along the sides with a stitch effect die and inked around the edge of the topper. A sentiment was added into the speech bubble and to fill the gap I felt like the faither flower fitted in with the theme. If anything is possible you need to have faith don’t you?

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • White 300gsm card base
  • Image from Oddball Art Co
  • Sentiment from JMC stamps
  • Coloured pencils
  • Distress oxide ink
  • Flower “faith” die cut

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

Inspired by a film

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge I’m sure you can guess the film that inspired this card in seconds.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #632 is oddball Art Co. The theme this week is “Inspired by a film”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I coloured this image with pencils, not sure why but I’ve got a thing about pencils at the moment! I then die cut the image and a further layer using what I believe are crafters companion dies (though feel free to correct me if I’m wrong!) and mounted them onto some contrasting blue backing paper and glued the layers onto my base card.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • Backing paper from my stash
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Dies
  • Card base – 300gsm

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Shoes….

Hi everyone. I’m a little late with this post, but better late than never!

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #630 is All Dressed Up. The theme this week is “Female”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

For this one coloured the image with pencils, and cut the image out to layer onto a background. I inked the background and layered this under a die cut in black. I think it’s quite striking, but allows the topper to still stand out.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image M printed onto super smooth card
  • Backing paper from my stash inked with distress oxide inks
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Distress oxide inks
  • Metal die
  • Black card
  • Card base – 300gsm

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Christmas

The sponsor for the CRAFT challenge #627 is The Paper Shelter and the theme is Christmas. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Blue 300gsm base card made from an A4 sheet
  • Digital image
  • Stamped and die cut sentiment
  • Backing paper also from TPS
  • Snowflake die cut with pixie powders
  • Sequins
  • High tack glue

I printed the digital images onto some thin card and cut out the topper image. I also had a large doe cut snowflake which toned in with the colour palette so I added this in between the background layer and the topper.

To finish off I also added a few sequins to add some sparkle. It’s a great image and makes stunning quick cards.

Thank you for stopping by, please leave a comment. X

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 15th February 2022

The sponsor for this challenge is Twinkle Lane Designs. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

The elephant has been coloured with an HB pencil and a paper stub and a pink coloured pencil. I die cut around the elephant and cut a mat in black so that it would stand out from the pink glittery background. Another mat and layer were also cut for the sentiment. As elephants are not supposed to forget I thought this would be a good sentiment to put on this card.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • HB pencil
  • Paper stub
  • Pink glitter card
  • Black card to mat the topper image ans sentiment
  • Floral die cut x2 with distress oxide applied to it
  • Sentiment stamps
  • Black ink
  • Pink pencil crayon

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.
