Music time

The sponsor for this challenge is Twinkle Lane. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I printed this image twice so great I could choose a couple of the elements to decoupage to give a bit of depth.

The background paper is some rice paper with some black soot distress oxide in the area under the image so that the image stands out from the background. I also added a strip of washi tape which is gold and tones in with the image.

The image has been coloured with distress oxide inks and some metallic pigment inks.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • Kraft 300gsm card base
  • Image and sentiment from Twinkle Lane
  • Sheet music rice paper
  • Ink pads as pictured above
  • Musical gold washi tape

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

Sleepy bear

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #642 is ADU. The theme this week is “Christmas”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I chose to do a simple card, but actually feel that it’s gorgeous as it is without the need for dressing it up with any embellishments! I simply used some coloured pencils for the scarf the sled and his ear, and an HB pencil and paper stub to give shade. I then matted this onto red and a pattered background paper on a white card.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Card base – 300gsm
  • HB pencil
  • Paper blending stub
  • Backing papers
  • Paper trimmer

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Fathers Day

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #640 is Oddball Art Co. The theme this week is “Male”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I chose to do a spotlight heart for this father’s Day card. The heart also symbolises the love I have for my dad. He’s so understated that this day is to celebrate him.

I cut a heart out of the image and coloured the heart in the colours of the camper van that mum and dad owned when I was younger. Around the camper I then added a pencil drop shadow as I wasn’t colouring the rest of the image. I also added some subtle stencilled hearts in the background. I then mounted the image onto an orange mat and onto a brown base card and added the heart back into the image on foam tape to raise the spotlight heart.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Heart Die
  • Card base – 300gsm
  • Distress oxide ink
  • Foam tape

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.

Anything is possible…

The sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Art Co. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

girl standing in front of a wall

The image has been coloured with coloured pencils which I’m loving at the moment. I then added detail along the sides with a stitch effect die and inked around the edge of the topper. A sentiment was added into the speech bubble and to fill the gap I felt like the faither flower fitted in with the theme. If anything is possible you need to have faith don’t you?

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • White 300gsm card base
  • Image from Oddball Art Co
  • Sentiment from JMC stamps
  • Coloured pencils
  • Distress oxide ink
  • Flower “faith” die cut

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

The sponsor for this challenge is Jan’s digital stamps. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

The flower blooms image has been coloured pencils which I’m loving at the moment. I then inked around the edge of the topper rectangle with the same ink that I had used to stamp onto the base card with a flower border. On the two long sides I then added some detail with an x border die.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • White 300gsm card base
  • Floral blooms image from Jan’s digital stamps
  • Sentiment also from Jan’s digital stamps
  • Coloured pencils
  • Distress oxide ink
  • Flower stamp

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

CRAFT 13th Birthday blog hop

Good Morning All and a very Happy 13th Birthday to us all here at CRAFT Challenge!!

This year we are 13 years old already and still going strong. Only one team member has been present from the start, Jo. Jo says ‘I have seen a lot of team members come and go over these 13 years, but all have been fabulous and very talented. I feel honoured to be working with such talented and lovely people. Even though my time is limited these days, I still love being part of this team.’

If you feel you would like to join our fabulous team, then just have a look at our DT Call page, which will inform you of any openings on the team. Or simply get in touch with us and let us know.

And now it’s time for our birthday celebrations. This week our challenge is

Birthday! (what else could it be?)

Anything that fits in with this subject, qualifies for entering this challenge.

There is a maximum of 1 entry per person for this challenge and as always it needs to be recent (new) work (so created and posted after this challenge has started). Although we love to see your work, it would put those contestants that put more than 1 entry in at an unfair advantage. The same limitation exists for the prizes to be won on the blogs of our DT members.

Please also turn word verification off as this makes leaving a comment on your lovely creations much easier. We will not leave a comment if you have word verification switched on.

Inspired by a film

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by. It’s time for another DT challenge I’m sure you can guess the film that inspired this card in seconds.

On to the DT challenge and the sponsor for trimmies CRAFT challenge #632 is oddball Art Co. The theme this week is “Inspired by a film”. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I coloured this image with pencils, not sure why but I’ve got a thing about pencils at the moment! I then die cut the image and a further layer using what I believe are crafters companion dies (though feel free to correct me if I’m wrong!) and mounted them onto some contrasting blue backing paper and glued the layers onto my base card.

So here’s a summary of the materials used to make the card:

  • Digital image
  • Backing paper from my stash
  • Colouring pencils
  • High tack glue
  • Dies
  • Card base – 300gsm

I hope that you feel inspired and it would be lovely to read you comments.
