Peggy the Penguin

The sponsor for the CRAFT challenge #619 is JMC Designs and the theme is winter. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

So here’s a summary of the materials:

  • White 300gsm A4 sheet cut, scored and folded to make a base card
  • JMC digital image “Peggy” from the Arctic Adventures collection
  • Die cut stamped sentiment
  • Tacky glue
  • White acrylic paint
  • Paper sheet from the Paper Tree, cut to shorten and overlay
  • ice Spruce ditresss oxide ink
  • Snowflake stamp
  • Chameleon pens (RD2, RD4, YO3, CG9)

I coloured my sweet little penguin “Peggy”with Chameleon pens and cut her out on my scan n cut machine.

I then took the paper sheet from a The Paper Tree paper pad and cut it and then fussy cut around the items at the bottom of the sheet so that it could overlaid.

The stars were a little bit bold so I chose to cover the top part of the paper with a thin coat of white acrylic to knock back the colour slightly.

After layering up the papers I stamped some snowflakes in Iced Spruce Distress Oxide and used this to also ink around the edge before mounting it onto a base card. I added the penguin, a sentiment and a snowflake.

Thank you for stopping by. Please leave a comment.

CRAFT challenge – #615

The sponsor for this challenge is Sweet n Sassy and the theme is Christmas – non traditional colours. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

The cute little mouse snuggled up into the hat was coloured with Chameleon pens and then given a bit of glitz and glam by adding glimmer powder. I cut the image out on my scan n cut and then worked on the background. I took my card blank and stamped in a versamark clear and added pink embossing powder. I then added some more glimmer dust into the winter themed background border stamp.

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

CRAFT challenge – #614

The sponsor for this challenge is Oddball Art and the theme is Halloween/autumn/thanksgiving. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge going with the theme.

I chose one of this flower vase with the poisoned petunias. It is coloured with Chameleon pens and the background of the topper was then inked with Weathered wood distress oxide.

This was then mounted onto black card onto a kraft card blank

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 21st September 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is Ike’s Art. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I created my card using the following:

Ike’s Art heart postbox digital image

A4 pink and white polka dot 300gsm card

Chameleon pens (RD4, NU1, PK3, PK2, PK4, VO2, PL5, RD2)

Distress oxide inks – Victorian Velvet and Picked Raspberry

Studio light ticket stamp and die set

Tattered lace starburst ovals

Leaf die

Fuchsia pink paper

Sparkly cream 240gsm card from pink frog

Gems

Paper trimmer

Anita tacky glue

The image I chose to use was this lovely postbox. With the hearts on it, it screamed anniversary to me and love, hence why I coloured it in red and pink Chameleon pens.

I recently picked up the ticket cutting die and decided that I wanted to team these up with the postbox image. I die cut 3 of these, created a background with some Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink then stamped with picked raspberry using some of the stamps from that set and others from another set. I mean it’s great to mix and match your stash isn’t it!

I cut out the starburst ovals but also kept the centre and used a pick up technique, with the distress oxide picked raspberry ink, to colour this mat. Next cutting out a few of the leaves too.

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 7th September 2021

The sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

I’m using an image called Autumn Breeze. The windswept girl comes with a backing paper and I’ve chosen to reduce the size of her so that I could add a sentiment to the blank space. I have also inked around the outside of the image with some distress oxide inks and over stamped with some text in a pale colour to add a little more age and texture.

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

CRAFT challenge – #609

The sponsor for this challenge is Sweet n sassy. Each week we invite you to join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge.

With everything that has been going on in the last 18 months I think that our children need a card like this to tell them we love them and that they are unique and that they will come through this.

I’ve coloured this sweet little Sweet n Sassy digital image with chameleon pens, mounted it onto a note page created from an embossing folder and inked with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide. Onto that I have stamped “Be Unique” which is a Woodware clear stamp

As always it’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.

CRAFT challenge #595

Welcome to this weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge the sponsor for this challenge is Crafty sentiments.

The theme of this weeks challenge is “recycling”.

With recycling in mind there is a whole heap of things you could do on your projects.

For this project I chose to use some old bubble wrap to make a background with distress inks. Plus the ribbon is from the packaging of a orchid I had for my birthday last week.

I’m looking forward to seeing your entries, so let’s see what you can do!

CRAFT challenge #585 – Love/Valentines

Welcome to this weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge is on for one week and the theme for this challenge is Love/Valentines. The sponsors for this challenge are All Dressed Up.

This gorgeous girl is coloured with Chameleon pens (NU1, PK2, NU00, NG4, PK3, GR1, NU2, BR1, WG3) and Nuvo pen 487. I felt the sentiment stamp “all you need is love” summed up the love/Valentine theme for this challenge. I rounded the corners of my topper and inked it in a toning colour, rounded the corners of the silver mat and mounted it onto a floral card to set off the flowers in her hair.

Let’s see what creations you come up with – there are always some fabulous ideas out there. Good luck!

TTCRD anything goes challenge – 12th January 2021

This is my first DT card for TTCRD this year and it’s such a lovely image to work with.

So this challenge is using an image from our sponsor this Colour of Love. Join us at Through the craft room door (TTCRD) and lets see what you can do. It’s always lovely to see your creations and remember our challenges are always “anything goes – ATG”.

girl with heart colour of love

The image is coloured with Chameleon Pens (YL2, GR2, NG4, GR1, WG3, BR1, OL3, NU1, NU0, NU00, NU2, RD2, RD4, PK3, PK5) and then I shaded with a pencil and paper stub. The background of the card I used a stencil and some distress oxide ink onto Kraft card. The stencil is from Clarity Stamps.

CRAFT challenge #582 – ATG (anything goes)

Hi there crafters. Happy New Year!

The first challenge for 2021 at Trimmies Craft Challenge is on for two weeks and it’s an anything goes challenge. Life is nowhere near normal at the moment so I’m sure lots of you will like the time to craft and enter a project into our latest challenge. I hope it will allow you to think about your crafting and escape from reality for a while. The sponsors for our first challenge of the year are The Artsy Stamper Shop.

Bartlett Pears digital image

The digital image has been coloured with watercolour pencils. Then around the image I have added some pencil shading and used a paper stump to blend the pencil adding a border around the image. I have then use the Pumice Stone distress oxide ink to add an inked border around the topper and also dragged across the linen base card.

I don’t know about you but I wanted to choose something totally non Christmas related and different for this ATG challenge, so let’s see your creations.!
