Abbie’s 21st birthday

A card for my daughters friends birthday who is 21 today.

The background I made a while ago, on one of those days when you are playing and creating backgrounds. This time I had been playing with brusho. I put my background through an embossing folder and then used some pearl lustre cosmic shimmer metallic gilding polish over the top. I cut the 21 from the same background paper but inked it with a distress ink salty sea to darken it slightly and then used guiding flakes to accent the numbers. The lady, which is a Kanban stamp, was coloured with Chameleon pens NU00, BL3, WG3, NU2, BR1. As this was for a birthday I stamped a happy birthday sentiment and mounted both this and the image into some pale gray adorable scoreable card.

#471 CRAFT challenge – add ribbon and sparkle

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge, our sponsor this week is Oddball Art Co.

I recently bought a Sheena embossing folder and ran in through with some velum. I felt this would give a great backdrop to this image which I had coloured the image with my Chameleon pens. As this challenge was about ribbon and sparkle I used some of the crafters companion silver sparkle spray. I sprayed this over both the image and the velum so that they sparked and to add a little more sparkle I matted the velum onto silver sparkle card and added silver sparkle ribbon. I hope that you think that this is sparkly enough!!

#469 CRAFT challenge – Father’s Day / Male

Come over and join us at CRAFT challenge our sponsor for this challenge is sweet n sassy stamps.

The image and the sentiment are from sweet n sassy. I used a white piece of card which I embossed and inked for the background.

I’ve used this embossing folder several times for men’s cards as it give an instantly manly feel to a card. The tools fitted with this theme too. Quite a simple design but I think it looks good.

#176 Dream Valley challenge – Dry embossing.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Cute as a button stamps, come over and join us in the Dream Valley challenge .

For this first card I printed out the girl with the sack of buttons. I decided I wanted her to have orangey brown hair and the colouring took shape from there. The background was one I’d made a few weekends ago when I had some spritzer bottles and inks. I cut the background to fit onto this card and dry embossed a chevron pattern onto it. I used some of the same sheet to add a sentiment to the tab which said happy birthday and embossed that too. I love the pastel colours.

For this second card I chose to use a turquoise theme and coloured the image in various tones of two chameleon pens. I chose a colour to suit this and dry embossed a background then wiped a white ink pad over the top of the embossing. The sentiment from Crafters Companion flutterby collection was then stamped onto the same colour card stock and layered up with some flowers gems and ribbon. To finished I added the fairy dust falling from her hand with some iridescent stickles.
