CRAFT challenge #588 – Inspired by a movie

Welcome to this weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge. The sponsor for this challenge is Eureka.

When my kids were little we watched the High School Musical movies and this imagine bought those memories flooding back! The songs were favourites and gave us hours of pleasure while they were growing up.

The image is “Cheerleader” from Eureka and the music stamp in the background is one from Stamp Addicts.

Let’s see what you can do!

CRAFT challenge #581 – Christmas

This weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge is on and our sponsors this time are Eureka and The Cutting Cafe.

This digital image is from Rureka and is coloured with Chameleon pens. Every other letter I covered with 2 way glue and glimmer dust to add some sparkle.

This is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.

CRAFT challenge #530 – Sketch

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is Eureka Stamps.

The sketch for this challenge is:

I chose an image that would work in a circle for this challenge, and I loved this tree. It’s great and and hopefully shows that love grows over the years like it has for my parents.

I coloured the tree with reds and browns from my chameleon pen set (RD2, RD3, RD4, RD5, BR3, BR4 and BR5). On top of the hearts I added glossy accents.

The background I made from a white sheet of card, some Cosmo Cricket pixie paint (Ruby), some Brusho paint (black) and a mini water spritzer. The blocks to follow the sketch design were all pieces in my off cuts box. I cut the hearts as well for the corner features and then I added some gold onto the plain red panel and hearts. The same gold I gently added to the main feature circle with a dry wet wipe to give a subtle colour which just takes the edge off the stark white circle. Finally I die-cut a sentimental add to the bottom right. I hope you like the card.

#501 CRAFT challenge – Christmas humorous

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor for this challenge is Eureka Stamps.

The cat and dog have been playing at Christmas time. I’m so glad I don’t have to cope with this shenanigans in my house!

I chose 4 distress inks to watercolour with for this image and that aren’t necessarily ones you’d associate with Christmas. I like to do this to mix things up a little.

I found some snowflake paper to coordinate with the colours I’d chosen, cut some swirls and some snowflakes and stamped a sentiment.

#484 CRAFT challenge – Autumn/Weather

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge.

Our sponsor for this challenge is eureka stamps. I chose this autumn themed digi stamp, but as I was putting the card together there was in death in the near family and I felt that this would be appropriate to send. So I chose to add the words to the floating leaves to let them know I was thinking of them.

I’d watched some videos using drawing gum and felt this was a card I could try out this technique with. So I masked off the tree and the leaves which allowed me to ink the background with distress inks. Once I was happy with the background inking I was able to remove the gum and water colour the tree, again with autumnal distress inks. It’s an alternate masking technique to post it notes which I’d use again, and is more appropriate for the leaves which are being scattered.

To make this into a sympathy card I added the stamped phrase in amongst the floating leaves. I then cut out the image and decided to keep it simple an mount this onto a car base that had similar colouring around the outside to extend the image. Inside the card I added “sending you a paper hug”. I hope you like it.

#460 CRAFT challenge – Spring/Easter

Our sponsor for this challenge was Eureka Stamps and I chose to use their “flower border” digi stamp. Head over to the CRAFT challenge to join us this week.

I had a couple of rabbits and the girl stamp in my stash as well as the background. Putting these together made me think of Easter, spring and April showers. I hope you like the combination.
