#481 CRAFT challenge – Shaker card

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge.

The challenge this time was to make a shaker card. Our sponsor is The Cutting Cafe. I made two cards for this challenge.

Card 1 – circle shaker

I had the background I’d made a while back with some distress inks and while I was away in Cornwall recently I picked up the fairy die. As soon as I saw her I imagined a black silhouette on an inked background so here she is bought to life! I cut her twice and overlapped where she was on the card to give a fairy inside and out.

I was also able to use the Creative Expressions stamp set (CEC872 spread your wings journaling) for the two sentiments on the front and inside this card. I knew they were a useful set when I picked them up! These sentiments were stamped in jet black Stâzon.

I faintly inked the inside of this card using the same distress inks is used on the front to tone the card completely. Then used my Chameleon pens to colour in the word ‘wings’ and ‘soar’.

The final stamps I used were a set I’d picked up from Sheena Douglass (A little bit of scenic silhouette stamps set) a while back in 2015. These form the silhouette flowers around the card.

Card 2 – jar shaker

As the first card had been very feminine I wanted to make a contrasting masculine card.

I hope you like my shaker cards.
