CRAFT challenge #605

Welcome to this weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge the sponsor for this challenge is QKR Stampede.

This cute fella has been coloured with pencil crayons and a graphite pencil. I drew a doodle border around him to give some separation from the background stamp. The background stamp was stamped in versafine Clair ink. A couple of words were then highlighted by adding some distress ink onto them in red as well as the stars being coloured yellow. To finish off I mounted this onto black and red, then added it to a base card.

I’m looking forward to seeing your entries, so let’s see what you can do!

CRAFT challenge #594

Welcome to this weeks challenge at Trimmies Craft Challenge the sponsor for this challenge is QKR Stampede.

The theme of this weeks challenge is “inspired by a book”.

My inspiration was from a childhood book, and I’m guessing you can tell which one – the hungry caterpillar! Such a colourful and memorable book that I wanted to use that theme of colour too. The sentiment also works well I think…. I hope you like it.

I’m looking forward to seeing your entries, so let’s see what you can do!

CRAFT challenge #583 – New

Welcome to the second challenge for 2021 at Trimmies Craft Challenge is on for one week and the theme for this challenge is “New”. The sponsors for this challenge are QKR Stampede.

As you can see my “New” is new home. I coloured the two houses in the image with Chameleon pens and then used watercolour pencils to create the background. I used the distressed alphabet stamps from Stamp Addicts to stamp the “New Home” sentiment, and some distress oxides to ink around the edges and add a stencilled background onto the base card.

What’s new for you at the moment. My new in my life is my new job which I started 2 weeks ago. Drop me a comment and let me know!

I am entering this into the QKR Stampede challenge #412

CRAFT challenge #560 – Christmas

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is QKR Stampede.

Using the digi Stamp Angel Wishes, coloured with Chameleon pens NU1, NU3, WG3, YL2, NG4, YO2, NU2, NU0, RD2, BR1. I stamped Merry Christmas and drew a border around the topper. Mounted this onto black so that it stood out from the contrasting backing paper.

CRAFT challenge #550 – Spring/Easter

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsors this time are QKR Stampede and Oddball Art. This image is one from QKR Stampede.

This is such a cute Easter bunny! I’ve coloured this digital image with Chameleon pens (NU1, NU2, NU00, YO2, YO3, GR1, GR2, VO2, NG4, WG7, WG3). I stamped out the Easter eggs and inked them in distress inks shabby shutters and mustard seed. I used the same inks to ink around the topper mat so that there wasn’t a stark white edge and the card blended into the base card background.

I’d like to enter this into the following challenge:

Crimbo Crackers – 207 – Animals (not Christmas, but festive?)

CRAFT challenge #536 – make an embellishment

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is QKR Stampede.

I chose this cute fellow, I can imagine him floating down the river.

I’ve had this card blank cut and inked for a while, but what I wanted to put on it back then just didn’t fit. So when I came across it again this time around I felt it was appropriate.

Its a sliding easel card which folds flat (great for postage!).

I coloured this guy with my Chameleon pens and used some of the wet brusho to colour around the image mat, literally just by dragging it through the left overs. I didn’t waste the rest of the left over pigments either I made a background sheet for my stash.

So onto the embellishment which is what this weekends challenge was all about.

My embellishment was this dragonfly which I stamped, coloured with brusho and a spritz bottle. Once dry (you can use a heat gun to speed up the drying time) I cut him out and covered him in glossy accents. The glossy accents layer was quite thick so it curled the card slightly giving it some shape.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

PIP ATG 1946

LTCCB #40 ATG November challenge

Creative fingers challenge #175

CRAFT challenge #524 – Christmas

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is QKR Stampede.

I chose this cute stuffed reindeer for this Christmas challenge. As you may have seen before I like to make cards in colours that aren’t traditional Christmas colours. I wanted to use the backing paper I had so I chose Chameleon pens to compliment the backing paper. Normally I colour and try and find a backing paper, but this worked well as I wasn’t searching through hundreds of papers to find the right one!

I don’t know about you but I find that snowflakes are a staple that I keep to hand as I make Christmas cards throughout the year for design team challenges. I have a mini draw with the dies and flakes all ready to go. I can colour tint them or leave them white depending on the project.

I hope you liked my card, please leave a comment, and thank you for stopping by.
