#511 CRAFT challenge – distress your project

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights.

For this challenge the design team were given the “queen” digi stamp from Digital Delights. I coloured her in using the following Chameleon pens:

  • BR2 hot cocoa
  • NU4 caramel
  • NU00 nude
  • NU1 bisque
  • CG8 cool gray
  • PR4 purple grape
  • RD4 crimson red
  • I also used the chameleon detail pen D with the .4mm nib to draw the lines around the right hand side of the card outline to kind of complete the square with the red hearts paper. This was one I’ve had in my stash for some time, I distressed this with my distressing tool, inked around the edges and on top with the black soot distress oxide ink. The corner of this was folded forward revealing another distressed heart paper behind. I replicated this for the banned which I’d also cut distressed and foiled the sentiment onto with the WRMK foiling quil. I masked off the edges of the card so that I could stamp into the square space opposite the red heart paper, then before the ink dried I smudged it so that it wasn’t pristine.
  • The queen was mounted on various purple card mats from my stash, and her crown was coloured with a Sakura gelly roll pen – golden star.

    Best Auntie @ 70

My aunt was visiting the U.K. for her 70th birthday and I’d been making up these flowers from a crafty day with friends. My aunt isn’t a fussy or pink girly girl so I went with blue tones. She’s always there when I need to reach out so i wanted to let her know she’s a good aunt on her special birthday.

I love the script on the phrase which I cut out with my scan n cut machine, and to add to this I cut out some numbers in a script font too. I found some coordinating paper which wasn’t overpowering and too girly, created a deeper colour mat and added a free hand drawn line border. Not every card is about colouring in and digital images, but they can sometimes simply be about paper.

I hope you enjoyed the card.

    #502 CRAFT challenge – Fantasy

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor for this challenge is DRS Designs.

For this image I chose to keep the colour palette simple, blues and greens. I coloured the mermaid with my Chameleon pens. I don’t have any colour tops so I just stood one colour pen on top of the other to infuse the colours so that the transition would be pretty seamless. I love the way that the pens infuse and of course depending on how long you hold the pens together for you get a quicker or slower transition of colour.

I found some coordinating paper to cut the shells out to make a border. The shells are one of the standard cutting files on the scan n cut CM900. The shells made a border around a rectangle I had watered and splashed with distress inks to try and create a sea background. I then wanted to add some dimension and waves so I added two strips of red line tape and ruffled some ribbon along it. Finally I added a stamped sentiment.

#194 Dream Valley challenge – use a doily and a brad

Come over to the Dream Valley challenge and join us for our latest challenge! Our sponsor this time is All Dressed Up.

Brads come in all shapes and sizes these days and on this card I’ve used two. One of them is the dragonfly and the other I’ve used in the centre of the flower. The doily on the other hand was one I cut from the built in patterns on my scan n cut machine along with the two swirls at the top left on the card and the mats.

The image was coloured with Chameleon pens and the card blank is one I cut from Kit and Caboodle.

    #486 CRAFT challenge – Christmas

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this week is Lacy Sunshine Stamps.

I can’t believe that this year is flying by so quickly, but being a part of design teams has at least meant that I’ve been able to start my Christmas cards! This is such a cute image, coloured with my Chameleon pens. I decided to stick to some greens around the border and added some holly for a Christmasy border. I wanted to make the snow, berries and holly glisten too so out came the glamour dust and the quickly glue pen.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you liked my card.

    #483 CRAFT challenge – Sport

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge.

Our sponsor this week is Dr digi house of stamps. I’m an ice hockey fan so when the theme was sport I was so pleased to find find this ice hockey guy. The image was coloured with my Chameleon pens. I really wasn’t sure what I was going to do for the background and I found ,yield thinking about the words associated with ice hockey and then it struck me that I should put these down and make that my background. Hence the words here.

To create the word background I used scan n cut canvas and I chose different fonts for the words the sized them to give some variation. I then used the draw function to add this to a backing paper. I think it is a fab men’s card.
