TTCRD anything goes challenge – 28th January 2020

Come and join us for the latest challenge from Through the craft room door (TTCRD) This time our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter.

The images from The Paper Shelter are always ones that you can print and run with as they come with a background, coloured image layers or they come as a black and white line drawing which you can make your own. I’ve chosen to print this one off with the background and then two more layers so that I could decoupage some of the flowers and the VW camper van. It’s a cool fun summery image which was great to work with. I added the “don’t worry be happy” sentiment as I felt this summered up the care free summery attitude I saw in the image!

To frame this I have used one of the Clarity Stamps Doodleology Square frame stamps which I bought recently. I love them as they are quirky. The twisted strands in the frame stamp were coloured with Chameleon pens (RD2, GR1, GR2, YO3, OR3, NU1, NU4, YO2, PK2).

I’ve included this view so that you can see the decoupage in a little more detail!

I would like to enter this into the following challenge:

CRAFT challenge #526 – 3D decoupage

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this time is The Paper Shelter.

This image from The Paper Shelter was chosen by the team to be made into 3D decoupage. I printed it out several times on Centura Pearl card so that the image had a shimmer to it. I decided on the layers cut and shaped these and then layered these up with some glue gel.

CRAFT challenge #514 – Fathers Day

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor this week is The Paper Shelter.

This image made me think of the exaggeration we sometimes hear about when a guy has been fishing…. I could just imaging him actually sitting against a tree thinking about how big the fish he just lost really was and this was the thought I wanted him to have on the card. I think he’s dreaming of the size he’d like to report back when he sees his mates!

I chose to mount this on a background paper which looked masculine and distressed, and to colour the digital image with some water colour pencils.

I’ve had these pencils for many years (since I was a teenager) and can remember my next door neighbour borrowing them to try them out. He was a well respected artist within Birmingham, an ex Head Teacher and a man who I respected greatly. He did me a picture with them of a jazz band which I still gave to this day. Sadly he himself is no longer with us.

I hope you enjoy playing along with this weeks challenge.

#494 CRAFT challenge – Christmas

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge. Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter.

Decorating our mushrooms.

Christmas is coming and will be hear before we know it.

I coloured this image mainly with pencil crayons and then added som glittery lights to adorn the mushrooms. I cut around the image with the cut out corner square shape (is that a thing? Or does it have a proper name?) then matted it onto a slightly larger red mat of the same shape. It needed a bit of a background on the card base so I stuck to the same colour theme and stamped some holly to colour too. The sentiment stamp was one I had in my stash.

#482 CRAFT challenge – Christmas

Come and join us at Trimmies Craft Challenge.

Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter and the theme is Christmas! The year is certainly going much quicker than expected. So many things I would still like to accomplish!

This cute image is ‘Snow Angel’. I chose to put her in amongst the snowflakes and give the card a feminine feel. I die cut a whole lot of snowflakes and arranged them on the top layer which I raised just slightly on foam pads. I coloured the second layer snowflakes a subtle pink and let these peep out from below. Around each of the layers these is also a slight glittered pink border and to finish off I added a few gems to the centre of the snowflakes and a simple sentiment.

I wonder if we will get any snow this year?

#463 CRAFT challenge – Christmas

Come and join us at the CRAFT challenge this week. Our sponsor is The Paper Shelter.

The background and foreground images are both from The Paper Shelter and the image is called ‘Flight Plan’. I coloured the image with Chameleon pens and cut some ferns and snowflakes to put behind the main image. You can imagine all of the little children awaiting Santa’s well planned visit on Christmas Eve.
