With sympathy

Hello and welcome to my little part of blogland! Whatever life throws at us we know (sadly) that we will always need sympathy cards. That’s just life! So this challenge I thought I would make a sympathy card for my box.

The sponsor for this challenge is KLM. Each week we invite you to join us at the Through the craft room door blog, the theme is always anything goes!

For this card I chose to use an image and a sentiment from KLM. The floral element I chose to use twice and rotated it to be a top and bottom element to edge my sentiment. I did all of this within Inkscape before printing the image in black and white.

For my sympathy card I didn’t want something bold either, I just wanted something quite subtle. To achieve the subtle effect I coloured with muted colours and kept things simple.

To tie in the colour I chose a background sheet that had similar colours in it but TL only showing a small amount of the backing sheet meant that even though it’s a busy background it’s not overpowering.

Here is a summary of the materials:

  • 300gsm card base
  • Images from KLM (flower spray and sentiment)
  • Pencil crayons
  • Floral backing paper

As always, I hope that you like the card. It’s lovely to see that you’ve stopped by to leave a comment. Thank you.
